Atlantis was founded in 2007 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the first programs were located in the Azores Islands in Portugal. Atlantis has grown over the past decade into one of America's leading independent global healthcare education organizations. The Atlantis headquarters are now just outside of Washington, D.C., and our programs and international staff are located in cities all across Europe.
Our mission is to equip the next generation of global medical leaders to pursue their callings passionately. We want every Fellowship program we run to reflect a deep concern for ethical solidity, educational value, and innovative thinking.
Our vision is to become the world's leading healthcare education company by connecting students, universities, hospitals, healthcare professionals, and public healthcare administrators around a common cause of improving healthcare training and education. We believe that the fastest and most effective way to improve global patient care is to promote knowledge-sharing and best practices across borders, improving communication channels across languages, cultures, and geographic divides, with the ultimate goal of better serving those in need: the sick, the injured, and all those in need of physical or mental care.
Located just outside of DC, our zip code represents a spirited and driven team passionate about working with students to connect global healthcare.
Atlantis has been in operation for the last 10 yrs creating an amazing network of hospital and university partnerships while continuing to add value to our flagship clinical program.
Thousands of pre-med students have had the opportunity to shadow in international hospitals with Atlantis and we are continually inspired by the stories and success of our alumni network.
