Székesfehérvár, which means “white castle of the (royal) seat,” is one of the largest cities in Hungary and was the capital throughout the Middle Ages. It is one of the most ancient towns in Hungary, and it was within the Székesfehérvár Basilica that 37 kings and 39 queens were crowned, where 15 rulers were buried, and where the crown jewels were held.
