Experience the finest of western civilization in Italy

Home to the great Roman empire and the Renaissance, Italy is host to more UNESCO World Heritage cultural sites than any other country in the world. From the Colosseum, to Il Duomo, to the canals of Venice, there are plenty of breathtaking sites to see walking the streets of Italy's great cities. Take a moment to step inside and things are just as stunning. Art is core to the history of the Italian people, and it shows. Michelangelo, da Vinci, and Raphael only scratch the surface of the artistic greats from the Italian Renaissance.

It's no secret that Italy is known as a culinary hub, but the reality of their dishes goes far beyond pasta and pizza. While Italians typically stick to a relatively traditional Mediterranean diet, they put the emphasis on quality of ingredients in their meals. Fresh produce and seafood are a must in Italy, resulting in mouthwatering meals you can't find anywhere else in the world. Pair your meal with a world-famous Tuscan wine, and you'll be wondering why you didn't go to Italy sooner.

While the cities of Italy typically have the spotlight on them (with good reason), the countryside is not worth missing. The rolling hills of Tuscany, the foothills of the Alps to the North, and the picturesque Lake Como tucked in the mountains all demand a visit. Take a train down the coast and you'll see cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean with stunning views into the vast waters.

The Italian people are all about living life well, which means indulging in the finer things. From fashion, to beauty, to the way they drink their coffee, the Italians make sure they do it the right way. Putting on a tie, grabbing your nicest handbag, or doing your hair is just a natural way to live life as an Italian. Take advantage of the opportunity to indulge in the finer things yourself while in Italy this summer.

Italian Healthcare

The Italian Healthcare System is a mixed public and private system, with a national health service “Servizio Sanitario Nazionale” (SSN) as well as private insurance providers that mainly congregate in bigger cities. Healthcare is considered a national right for all residents and citizens. Family doctors are paid by the SSN, and patients can choose and change their general practitioner according to availability.
